Step 1
Funding Criteria
An Expression of Interest (EoI) process applies for applications to the Community Wellbeing Program for grants of $50,000 or more, and the Education and Environment & Conservation Programs for grants of $100,000 or more. Expressions of Interest are not required for other program areas.
All organisations applying for funding from The Ian Potter Foundation must demonstrate that they have both Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status and endorsement as a Tax Concession Charity (TCC) from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). Please refer to the eligibility page for detailed requirements.
After making sure your organisation has the required ATO endorsements, the EoI process continues with you ensuring that your program or project fits with the Foundation’s funding principles and the funding objectives of the Community Wellbeing , Education or Environment & Conservation program.
Before submitting your EoI you must telephone the relevant program manager on
03 9650 3188 to discuss your proposal and its fit with the Foundation’s priorities.
Exclusions:
- Expressions of Interest that have been previously unsuccessful cannot be resubmitted.
- Submissions will not be accepted from organisations that have not successfully acquitted previous grants from the Foundation.
Step 2
Expression of Interest (EoI)
Following the telephone discussion with the relevant program manager confirming that your proposed project fits our funding principles and objectives, you can download the list of inclusions for EoIs. After completing your EoI, it should be submitted in hardcopy.
Closing dates do not apply and EoIs will be accepted on an ongoing basis. It may take the program manager up to six weeks to assess your EoI and decide whether to suggest that you submit a formal application.
Step 3
Application
Following the review of your EoI, the program manager may invite you to submit a full proposal and will email you an application form.
This stage of the process may include meetings and site visits to assist the Foundation to better understand your organisation and the proposed program or project.
Closing dates do not apply to invited applications following an Expression of Interest.
Step 4
Outcome
Your application for a Grant will be considered by the Foundation’s Board of Governors. The Board meets three times a year and you will be notified of the decision within two weeks of the meeting.
Please note that an invitation to submit an application does not mean that your application will be funded.
