Submitting an Application

The Foundation carefully considers all eligible applications to determine whether a project fits its current program interests and funding principles.

If your grant application is for $50,000 or more:

  • The primary contact for the project must discuss the project with the Program Manager at the Foundation prior to submitting the application. The discussion should take place well in advance of the funding round closing date.
  • A site visit and/or meeting may be required, so you are encouraged to submit your application as early as possible. If there is insufficient time to arrange a site visit prior to the funding decisions being made your application may have to be deferred to the following funding round.

Applicants should be aware that for the purposes of assessment their proposal may be sent to specialist consultants. This is done on a confidential basis.

In order for an application to be considered, one signed original of the application together with an email copy must be received by close of business at 5pm on the Closing Date.

Applicants are asked to apply using the application form which may be downloaded. Hard copies, including all required documentation may be sent by post, courier or hand-delivered. Applications sent by fax will not be accepted.

The Foundation will notify applicants by email within seven days of receipt of an application.

All applications should be addressed to:

Mrs Janet Hirst
Chief Executive Officer
The Ian Potter Foundation
Level 3, 111 Collins Street
Melbourne VIC 3000

Email: applications@ianpotter.org.au

The Foundation endeavours to inform all applicants of the outcome of their submission in writing, by post or email within three months of the closing date .

Unfortunately many more applications are received than can be supported. It is the policy of the Foundation not to provide reasons for the declination of applications.
